Weird vegetables
One of the good things about growing your own vegetables is the fact that they are not all exactly the same shape and size as found in supermarkets. Sometimes you can get a good laugh just by digging up your crops - allotments being good for your mental health, of course. Some of these examples came from Goodmayes Lane, plot 67.

Is it Dr Who's dog, K9? No, just an alien potato. I'm not sure what Esther Rantzen would say about this carrot!
How did a single pointy beetroot grow among a row of round ones? Strange creature? - or a potato that has spent months behind a freezer?
Here's a very friendly pair of carrots. (Grown by Marshall at Goodmayes) Roman cauliflower with a space-age appearance. (Grown by Marshall at Goodmayes)
A cauliflower in the hand is worth two in the bush. (Grown by Marshall at Goodmayes) This plum could be a cheeky one. (Grown by Marshall at Goodmayes)
In 2009, Marshall specialised in weird tomatoes. (Grown by Marshall at Goodmayes)

If anyone would like to show off their vegetable oddities please email photos to e.s.oliver@hotmail.co.uk and I'll be happy to add them to this page.
