New group set up in defence of Seven Kings

Allotment society members living in and around Seven Kings may be interested in signing up as supporters of an entirely independent new campaign group, TASK- take Action for Seven Kings- which came into existence on January 1st.

Its aim is to bring local people together in support of the regeneration of the area, and its initial focus will be on ensuring the deeply controversial sale of the High Road lorry/ car park site fulfils its own planning brief for an outstanding building and desperately needed new community facilities.

It is also taking urgent action to clean up the streetscape and improve conditions at the local railway station.

Needless to say, TASK is highly supportive of efforts to maintain our local allotment sites, with a number of TASK activists plot holders who were present at Town Hall demonstrations last year.
